👩‍🍼 While a new baby means an exciting, new stage of life, it can bring emotional changes you may not expect. This can happen with baby blues or postpartum depression. If you’re a new mom, it’s important to understand the difference.🔹Baby blues are a temporary, mild form of moodiness that usually starts two to three days after delivery and resolves on its own in a couple of weeks.🔹Postpartum depression is a more serious condition involving severe mood swings. It can interfere with daily life and bonding with your baby. Postpartum depression can start during pregnancy or up to a year after delivery, and it may persist for months if left untreated.Across our broader HCA Healthcare system of care, we are part of an integrated network of mental health and wellness facilities, comprising over 50 inpatient locations and more than 200 outpatient programs across 16 states. ⚕️ If you’re looking for non-emergency mental health support, call 603.663.6252 or learn more about our mental health services: https://bit.ly/4dgs8JD #MaternalMentalHealthMonth #WomensHealthMonth | HCA Virginia Health System
